The plane landed back at Bush Airport at 7:13 p.m., just 33 minutes after takeoff. The plane with engine trouble is scheduled to depart Bush Airport for Orlando at 7:20 a.m. Thursday. “United flight 1118 returned to Houston shortly after takeoff due to an engine issue. We arranged for a new aircraft to take our customers to their destination, which departed for Fort Myers later that evening,” the airline said in a statement.

CNN —A Houston man who went missing as a teen more than eight years ago has been found safe, the Texas Center for the Missing said. Rudolph “Rudy” Farias IV had been missing since March 6, 2015, according to a missing persons flyer. Someone called 911 after finding him unresponsive outside a church, with cuts and bruises, Farias’ mother told CNN affiliate KTRK. “After 8 long years, Rudy has been located safe,” said a Sunday tweet from the Texas Center for the Missing. He will only speak a few words at a time before going into a fetal position, Farias’ mother said.

CNN —Authorities have arrested the man they say shot two teenage cheerleaders after one said she mistook the suspect’s vehicle as her own in a supermarket parking lot near Texas’ capital – at least the third incident this week in which young people who’d made an apparent mistake were met with gunfire. Pedro Tello Rodriguez Jr., 25, was taken into custody early Tuesday, the Elgin Police Department said in a news release later that morning. Officers responding just after midnight Tuesday to an H-E-B supermarket parking lot found two people in a vehicle who’d been struck by bullets, police said, citing preliminary reports. The supermarket manager witnessed the incident, and police have surveillance footage from the parking lot, could see the license plate on the suspect’s car and later observed him at his home, police said, according to a probable cause affidavit. Pedro Tello was still wearing the clothing that was observed by Elgin Detectives in the surveillance footage,” the affidavit states.

AUSTIN, Texas — A Texas grand jury has indicted a husband accused of slipping a medicine used for abortions into his wife’s drinks in hopes that it would end her pregnancy. Court records show he was originally arrested in May and released on a $30,000 bond. According to court documents, Herring’s wife told authorities her husband in March began lecturing her on hydration and offering water. Herring’s wife became suspicious, according to court records, and began refusing multiple other drinks her husband offered. She said she later found in the trash packaging for a drug that contains misoprostol, a medicine used to induce abortion.
